I really like this lovely doll but alas, I have several examples and cannot afford them all, so I am reluctantly parting with this pretty lady. She is , of course, an antique French fashion doll with a leather body (in good condition) and is wearing an antique ensemble. She is 14" tall , so would be appropriate as a young "jeune fille" for a somewhat larger 16" mama. I believe she is a Francois Gaulthier (Gaultier) product and her bisque looks fine--softly painted and fine grained. There are no problems such as hairlines or chips. She has lovely blue paperweight eyes, original to her and her original pate and old wig. She is wearing a dress that is deteriorating somewhat but still is display worthy. The problems are mostly around the buttonholes, so I just rarely remove the dress in order to protect it. Personally, I do not mind the damage and prefer an old outfit to a newly made one. The color is a dark dove gray with turquoise accents and buttons. Her hat has been added and I think it is vintage and not antique but perhaps made of old materials. Her shoes are brown antique and she has antique gray silk socks. Her undies consist of an antique flannel petticoat, a plain cotton petticoat and antique pantalettes. In addition, she also carries a purse of beaded silk (not antique). I truly hope this young lady finds a loving home.
