This is an interesting vintage composition doll that depicts a WAV or woman naval officer of WW2. I vaguely remember my mom in the early fifties dressing dolls for booths at festivals and this is a doll that reminds me of that as I do not think she was commercially dressed but instead made for such a booth by moms of that day. Likely they did it in order to raise funds for some war cause. The doll is a rather generic compo doll and her feet have scuffs (I forgot to take a picture of them) and her arms are stiff and do not move easily so she seems perennially trying to salute, I do like her little serge uniform and its belt, navy buttons and the embroidered insignia on the sleeve. The hat is apparently a replacement as it does not exactly match. In addition, she has a matching no nonsense purse and a flag. She can come with black or white shoes as she came to me without shoes. the shoes are a tiny bit too long but if you add socks, I think it will work. this is a great addition to a military doll colection. She is 12" tall and has no marks.
