What a wonderful children's book. I love these older books with their illustrations that are so charming. This particular one hails from the Pre-Depression era, 1927 and made by the famous Whitman company. The illustrations are in color and the print is blue of all things. And of course the story is the ultra famous one of Goldilocks and the three bears and Goldies faux pas and career in breaking and entering. The book came in its own box with the cover illustration on it. This was before book sleeves were common, I suppose. My dad owned this particular book, too, and I remember reading it as a child and being fascinated then. This is another copy as I am keeping Dad's to pass on to my grandkids.
