This creamware tea bowl and saucer has transfer design on both pieces of a bird in a flowering branch. The transfer design has been accentuated with enamel overpainting, and there is iron red striping along rims. Unmarked, probably English, ca. 1800.
Size: Saucer approximately 5.25" diameter, cup diameter3.375", 2.25" high.
Condition: Very good for age. Glazed over rim chip on cup during manufacturing, roughness and chipping to foot rim; one spot of overpaint on saucer rim; I believe this was during manufacture, but it is there.
Note that I try to be conservative about condition descriptions, carefully noting any flaws. Of course, with antique items, there will be some signs of usage, and/or manufacturing defects. But overall, my customers have always been pleasantly surprised upon receiving their items, and of course, I would expect a return if I happen to miss anything.
