This is an unusual form in early Spode. This tray is roughly rectangular, with a basket type handle. Body is white porcelain, and the decoration is chinoiserie, in reds and blue with gilt trim.
Red painted "SPODE" mark, along with pattern number and a pattern number and what is likely a decorator's mark. Circa 1800.
Bright and clean, a lovely piece of Spode for your collection.
Size: Approximately 8" long, 6.75" wide, 3.5" high.
Note that I try to be conservative about condition descriptions, carefully noting any flaws. Of course, with antique items, there will be some signs of usage, and/or manufacturing defects. But overall, my customers have always been pleasantly surprised upon receiving their items, and of course, returns are no problem if I happen to miss anything.
