This pair of Mason's ironstone soup plates have Asian motifs. The central image is a vase with exotic flower, surrounded by various images. The flange has a floral design on a light yellow ground.
Other colors used are cobalt, pink, green and gilding.

Examples (with variation) of this pattern are shown in Godden's Ironstone Stone & Granite wares, and Mason's China: The Ironstone wares.

Printed Mason's Patent Ironstone mark, painted N 2240

English, ca. 1840

Size: Approximately 9 1/8" diameter

Condition: Excellent with only slight signs of use. No chips, cracks or repairs.

Note that I try to be conservative about condition descriptions, carefully noting any flaws. Of course, with antique items, there will be some signs of usage, and/or manufacturing defects. But overall, my customers have always been pleasantly surprised upon receiving their items, and of course, returns are no problem if I happen to miss anything.
