The scene on this Spode "New Indented" is "Bridge of Lucano", and shows the tomb of Plautius Lucanus, with the bridge in front. This scene was used by other potters as well. Printed in a medium blue.
This example has the printed blue "SPODE" mark along with "A" (probably a workman's mark). There is also an impressed "SPODE" mark along with "11" (probably a shape number).
English ca. 1820
Size: Approximately 9.5" diameter, 1.375" deep.
Condition: Excellent. No chips, cracks or repairs.
Note that I try to be conservative about condition descriptions, carefully noting any flaws. Of course, with antique items, there will be some signs of usage, and/or manufacturing defects. But overall, my customers have always been pleasantly surprised upon receiving their items, and of course, returns are no problem if I happen to miss anything.
