Everything about this pitcher is lovely: A graceful shape, beautifully scrolled handle, and a wonderful band of silver luster resist decoration. This impressively sized pitcher is of a "drabware" tan light earthenware. Originally purchased at Vernay in New York City (a very fine antique dealership), it has their "guarantee of authenticity" sticker, as well as remnants of another sticker, now illegible.
But no sticker is needed to see that this is a fine piece of early nineteenth century English earthenware.
Size: Approximately 8.25" high, base diameter 3.875".
Condition: Excellent. No chips, cracks or repairs.
Note that I try to be conservative about condition descriptions, carefully noting any flaws. Of course, with antique items, there will be some signs of usage, and/or manufacturing defects. But overall, my customers have always been pleasantly surprised upon receiving their items, and of course, I would expect a return if I happen to miss anything.
