This Wedgwood basket form dish has hand painted roses and leaves inside and out, and is signed by the artist, T Hodgkinson. Circa 1880. Impressed WEDGWOOD mark and number 3OO, painted "C4000". The impressed number does not seem to fit the Wedgwood scheme of date marks, so it may be a shape number. The painted number is probably for the decorator, with the "C" prefix possibly indicating an ornamental shape of queensware.
Size: Approximately 8" long, 6" wide, 5" high.
Condition: Excellent. No chips, cracks or repairs.
Note that I try to be conservative about condition descriptions, carefully noting any flaws. Of course, with antique items, there will be some signs of usage, and/or manufacturing defects. But overall, my customers have always been pleasantly surprised upon receiving their items, and of course, I would expect a return if I happen to miss anything.
