This English pitcher or jug has a decidedly Gothic influence. The body earthenware is a taupe or putty color, with details picked out in silver luster.
The relief molding has grapes and vines around the collar, a rustic branch or vine handle. The body has arches and scrolls encircling.
No maker's marks. Probably English, ca. 1845
Size: Approximately 6 ¾" tall.
Condition: Excellent. No chips, cracks or repairs.
Note that I try to be conservative about condition descriptions, carefully noting any flaws. Of course, with antique items, there will be some signs of usage, and/or manufacturing defects. But overall, my customers have always been pleasantly surprised upon receiving their items, and of course, returns are no problem if I happen to miss anything.
