Wine rinsers were used on the formal table for cooling/rinsing wine glasses - the stem of the glass would rest in the lip. This one is Anglo-Irish cut glass, with a band of angular cut panels and a notch cut rim. Bottom has a ground and polished pontil.
Unmarked, probably English or Irish, 19th century.
Size: Approximately 3.5" high, 5.5" wide (including lips)
Condition: Excellent. No chips, cracks or repairs.
Note that I try to be conservative about condition descriptions, carefully noting any flaws. Of course, with antique items, there will be some signs of usage, and/or manufacturing defects. But overall, my customers have always been pleasantly surprised upon receiving their items, and of course, returns are no problem if I happen to miss anything.
