This mug is nicely engraved, with script monogram GMM, with leaf and acorn engraving above, crossed leaf sprays below.
Base has pontil scar and shows good wear, handle a bit clumsy.
I suspect this is probably Bohemian, early to mid-nineteenth century, rather than English or American. A nice example of a hard to find form.
Size: Approximately 5" high
Condition: Slight line at tail end of upper handle attachment. I have looked with magnifying glass and think this is just a crease in the glass. In any event, not significant. No chips, cracks or repairs.
Note that I try to be conservative about condition descriptions, carefully noting any flaws. Of course, with antique items, there will be some signs of usage, and/or manufacturing defects. But overall, my customers have always been pleasantly surprised upon receiving their items, and of course, returns are no problem if I happen to miss anything.
