The bright colors of these English "Japan" pattern porcelains make them perennial favorites. Meant to mimic the Asian ceramics such as Imari, they usually have all-over floral patterns in cobalt, rust, pink, green and gilt.
This plate is typical of this style, with a nice combination of colors.
Unmarked, but probably English ca. 1825
Size: Approximately 9.5" diameter
Condition: Excellent. No chips, cracks or repairs.
Note that I try to be conservative about condition descriptions, carefully noting any flaws. Of course, with antique items, there will be some signs of usage, and/or manufacturing defects. But overall, my customers have always been pleasantly surprised upon receiving their items, and of course, returns are no problem if I happen to miss anything.
