This deep "stone china" tray has typical "Japan" type decoration in cobalt, rust, green and gilt. Roughly hexagonal in shape with shell-type handles, the edge shape and decoration is rather flamboyant.
Unmarked, but typical of many of the wares made by Hicks & Meigh or their successor.
English, ca. 1825
Size: Approximately 11.5" long, 8.5" wide, 2" deep
Condition: Excellent. No chips, cracks or repairs.
Note that I try to be conservative about condition descriptions, carefully noting any flaws. Of course, with antique items, there will be some signs of usage, and/or manufacturing defects. But overall, my customers have always been pleasantly surprised upon receiving their items, and of course, returns are no problem if I happen to miss anything.
