This set of six cups and saucers is in the "Antelope" pattern. The central scene shows a young girl offering food to an antelope on a leash. Not exactly the animal I would picture as a pet, but what do I know.
The transfer is in brown, and the border is a combination of arches, filigree and floral motifs.
Pattern name is printed on saucers.
Shown in Williams/Weber "Staffordshire II" as manufactured by Job Jackson.
English, ca. 1835
Size: Saucers approximately 6" diameter, cups 2 ¼" high, 3 ¾" top diameter
Condition: Overall good. Once cup cracked, one with some staining/crazing. No other chips, cracks or repairs.
Note that I try to be conservative about condition descriptions, carefully noting any flaws. Of course, with antique items, there will be some signs of usage, and/or manufacturing defects. But overall, my customers have always been pleasantly surprised upon receiving their items, and of course, returns are no problem if I happen to miss anything.
