This oval two-handled dish on a pedestal base has an elaborately pierced body with applied floral garlands. Would make a fine gift, or for your own table whether filled with fruit or left empty.
Three letter script monogram in bottom (too ornate for me to figure out, but a guess is AJC). Fully marked Sterling with Bigelow Kennard marks.
American Sterling silver, Boston, early 20th century.
Size: Approximately 10.25" long, 7" wide, 3.75" high; weight 436 grams (14 troy ounces)
Note that I try to be conservative about condition descriptions, carefully noting any flaws. Of course, with antique items, there will be some signs of usage, and/or manufacturing defects. But overall, my customers have always been pleasantly surprised upon receiving their items, and of course, returns are no problem if I happen to miss anything.
Estate silver will be in used condition, but I will take care to note any defects or condition problems arising from heavy use or abuse.
