Probably inspired by an actual Japanese basket, this Royal Worcester vase has a basket weave pattern body, reticulated base and top rim with "bamboo" edging. There is a relief floral and leaf vine surrounding the body. The glaze is in subtle brown and green tones.
An example of Japanese influence on aesthetic movement designs of the nineteenth century.
Printed Royal Worcester mark used 1862 - 1875.

Note that I try to be conservative about condition descriptions, carefully noting any flaws. Of course, with antique items, there will be some signs of usage, and/or manufacturing defects. But overall, my customers have always been pleasantly surprised upon receiving their items, and of course, returns are no problem if I happen to miss anything.
