This sweet little pearlware cup and saucer has both pieces decorated with a transfer of bird on a branch, highlighted with colored enamel. Imperfect, but a charming little piece of childhood ceramics.
Size: Saucer approximately 3.75" diameter, cup 2.25" diameter, 1.625 high.
Unmarked, but probably English, ca. 1820
Condition: Handle has been broken off and repaired. Tiny chip to saucer rim (may have been done during manufacture, as it is covered with black rim enamel). No other chips, cracks or repairs.
Note that I try to be conservative about condition descriptions, carefully noting any flaws. Of course, with antique items, there will be some signs of usage, and/or manufacturing defects. But overall, my customers have always been pleasantly surprised upon receiving their items, and of course, returns are no problem if I happen to miss anything.
