The design of these New York coin silver tongs is simple, which highlights the interesting ends modeled after acorns. Probably meant for use with one of those oversize tea sets of the 1825 period, these are longer than the usual tongs.
Maker's mark for D.I. Burger, New York active 1805-35, along with two pseudo-hallmarks.
Size: Approximately 7.25" long; weight 45 grams (1.44 troy ounces)
Estate silver will be in used condition, but I will take care to note any defects or condition problems arising from heavy use or abuse.
Note that I try to be conservative about condition descriptions, carefully noting any flaws. Of course, with antique items, there will be some signs of usage, and/or manufacturing defects. But overall, my customers have always been pleasantly surprised upon receiving their items, and of course, returns are no problem if I happen to miss anything.
