This deep blown glass bowl is in amberina (red shading to amber). It has a rich color, mostly red, with reddish yellow/amber at base. Shape has slight, gently paneled form. Small pontil scar, and expected base wear. Good bell tone. Not sure if this had any particular purpose, or just an unusual shape. Late 19th century, this is a lovely piece of antique glass.
Size: Approximately 4.625" high, 6" top diameter.
Condition: Excellent. No chips, cracks or repairs.
Note that I try to be conservative about condition descriptions, carefully noting any flaws. Of course, with antique items, there will be some signs of usage, and/or manufacturing defects. But overall, my customers have always been pleasantly surprised upon receiving their items, and of course, returns are no problem if I happen to miss anything.
