This quarter-round earthenware covered dish has a blue "willow" pattern transfer and a pearlware glaze. Nice and clean with rich transfer.
Originally part of a supper set of serving dishes that would fit together on a round tray. You can imagine how over the years use took its toll on these sets, so they often only survive as stray components.
No maker's mark, just some underglaze marks (most likely shape identifiers), but undoubtedly English, ca. 1825.
Size: Extreme length approximately 11.5", approximately 4" high with lid.
Condition: Very good Slight usage rubs, no chips, cracks or repairs.
Note that I try to be conservative about condition descriptions, carefully noting any flaws. Of course, with antique items, there will be some signs of usage, and/or manufacturing defects. But overall, my customers have always been pleasantly surprised upon receiving their items, and of course, I would expect a return if I happen to miss anything.
