Blown 3-mold glass combined the techniques of blowing and molding glass; blowing it into a mold allowed a pattern to be formed on the body of the piece.
This decanter was made in New England circa 1825-35, and has a design of vertical ribs with a central diamond point band. There are three applied neck rings, and a pressed "lollipop" stopper, which I believe is original as fit is very good.
Pontil scar on bottom, with appropriate base wear, but still nice and clean.
Size: Approximately 8" high without stopper, 10" with stopper.
Condition: Excellent. Usual manufacturing bubbles, creases, potstone. No chips, cracks or repairs.
Note that I try to be conservative about condition descriptions, carefully noting any flaws. Of course, with antique items, there will be some signs of usage, and/or manufacturing defects. But overall, my customers have always been pleasantly surprised upon receiving their items, and of course, returns are no problem if I happen to miss anything.
