Earthenware plate with silver luster with an allover "resist" design of flowers, leaves and berries. To create this design, a "resist" material (such as wax) would be used to paint the design, then the luster solution would be applied, and when fired, the luster would form the background. Unmarked, but probably English, circa 1830.
Size: Approximately 8.75" diameter.
Condition: Good. Some wear to luster, some glaze bubble pops, overall discoloration on reverse. No other chips, cracks or repairs.
Note that I try to be conservative about condition descriptions, carefully noting any flaws. Of course, with antique items, there will be some signs of usage, and/or manufacturing defects. But overall, my customers have always been pleasantly surprised upon receiving their items, and of course, I would expect a return if I happen to miss anything.
