This white porcelain pitcher has hand painted floral sprays and gilt trim. The shape is paneled with a leaf form spout and handle attachments.
This type of porcelain was made in great quantities, much of it from France where it was decorated in and around Paris, causing it to now be generically referred to as "Paris" porcelain.
Its size makes for an impressive display piece.
No maker's marks. Probably French, ca. 1850
Size: Approximately 8 ½" high.
Condition: Some gilt wear to handle and spout. No chips, cracks or repairs.
Note that I try to be conservative about condition descriptions, carefully noting any flaws. Of course, with antique items, there will be some signs of usage, and/or manufacturing defects. But overall, my customers have always been pleasantly surprised upon receiving their items, and of course, returns are no problem if I happen to miss anything.
