Variations of this "Japan" or Imari-based design were made by various English makers. This Bute shape coffee cup and saucer has typical coloring in cobalt, iron red, green and gilt. Unmarked, so hard to attribute to a specific maker. Not in the best condition, but a colorful example for display. English, ca. 1810.
Size: Saucer approximately 5.5" diameter; cup 2.375" high, 3" top diameter.
Condition: Cup has full length side crack near handle. Gilding worn on both pieces. No other chips, cracks or repairs.
Note that I try to be conservative about condition descriptions, carefully noting any flaws. Of course, with antique items, there will be some signs of usage, and/or manufacturing defects. But overall, my customers have always been pleasantly surprised upon receiving their items, and of course, returns are no problem if I happen to miss anything.
