This 19th century vase combines an interesting form, applied sprigging, and additional painted decoration. The ornate base supports a horn shaped vase that terminates in a fully modeled swan.
There is a cottage scene painted on one side, the opposite has a sprigged element.
No maker's mark, but probably English, ca. 1840
Size: Approximately 6 1/4" high, 6" long, 4 3/4" wide.
Condition: Has a good, professional restoration; I think the swan neck has had work, possibly wing tip(s); can tell by feel, but blacklight didn't show anything. Short line (1/2") off rim. Really looks good, and nothing removed after an overnight soak.
Note that I try to be conservative about condition descriptions, carefully noting any flaws. Of course, with antique items, there will be some signs of usage, and/or manufacturing defects. But overall, my customers have always been pleasantly surprised upon receiving their items, and of course, returns are no problem if I happen to miss anything.
