These Georgian Sterling tongs have an interesting rippled design with spoon ends. Bright cut engraving and tapered sides, script monogram on end (possibly "TH"). Marks in the spoon ends include a maker's mark "TN" (prob. Thos. Northcote), lion and monarch head, but no date mark. Circa 1800.
A nice set of antique silver tongs with an interesting design.
Size/Weight: Approximately 5.5" long, weight 34 grams (1.08 troy ounces)
Estate silver will be in used condition, but I will take care to note any defects or condition problems arising from heavy use or abuse.
Note that I try to be conservative about condition descriptions, carefully noting any flaws. Of course, with antique items, there will be some signs of usage, and/or manufacturing defects. But overall, my customers have always been pleasantly surprised upon receiving their items, and of course, returns are no problem if I happen to miss anything.
