The landscapes of Scotland were romanticized in literature, and made even more popular during the reign of Queen Victoria. The porcelain plates have bright pink shoulders, gilt borders, and central hand-painted scenes of Scotland.
The scenes depicted are: Upquart Castle (Urquhart Castle), Loch Awe, Loch Lomond, Loch Lubnaig.
No maker's marks, just painted numbers, probably either pattern or design numbers.
Size: Approximately 9" diameter.
Condition: Very good. Some slight wear. No chips, cracks or repairs.
Note that I try to be conservative about condition descriptions, carefully noting any flaws. Of course, with antique items, there will be some signs of usage, and/or manufacturing defects. But overall, my customers have always been pleasantly surprised upon receiving their items, and of course, returns are no problem if I happen to miss anything.
