This pair of porcelain dessert compotes are a typical shape of the 1810-25 period. Rectangular bodies on round foot, with branch form handles. Handles are not as graceful in their terminations as seen on some manufacturers. A Swansea dish in this shape/handle configuration is shown in the Cushions' Collector's History of British Porcelain.

The decoration is a Chinoiserie transfer with enameling over. The triangular areas have "foldovers", so as to resemble fabric, the remainder of the decoration floral and ribbons. Color palette primarily rust, pink and some light green.

No manufacturer's mark, pattern or workers number "130" painted on bottoms.

Size: Approximately 11" x 7"; 2.75" at highest point.

Condition: Excellent. Some signs of use, but no chips, cracks or repairs. Minor manufacturing flaws, primarily stray bits of overglazed clay bits.

Note that I try to be conservative about condition descriptions, carefully noting any flaws. Of course, with antique items, there will be some signs of usage, and/or manufacturing defects. But overall, my customers have always been pleasantly surprised upon receiving their items, and of course, I would expect a return if I happen to miss anything.
