Spode "Trophies" Serving Dish circa 1825
Spode earthenware rectangular serving dish has blue transfer with ocher highlights.. Pattern in center is "Trophies (Etruscan)", with rim in "Cracked Ice and Prunus". Gadroon edging along sides, small piercing of handles.
Blue printed "SPODE" mark, also impressed "SPODE" with "42" (probably the shape number).
Size: Approximately 12.5" length, 8" wide, 2.5" high at handles.
Condition: Some light overall gray discoloration. No chips, cracks or repairs.
Note that I try to be conservative about condition descriptions, carefully noting any flaws. Of course, with antique items, there will be some signs of usage, and/or manufacturing defects. But overall, my customers have always been pleasantly surprised upon receiving their items, and of course, I would expect a return if I happen to miss anything.
