If you are looking for something colorful, this may be it.
This round Mason's ironstone covered dish has a deep cobalt ground for gilt designs, vivid green borders, leaf shaped vignettes of birds and floral branches, and a great finial with red, gilt and blue.
Marked on both pieces with black printed mark, lid also has painted pattern number "1837". Circa 1850s-60s; this may be from the early years of Ashworth's acquisition of molds, patterns and name.
Size: Approximately 11" handle to handle length; 6.5" height.
Condition: Excellent, with slight gilt wear. No chips, cracks or repairs. Manufacturing glaze bubbles and ridges inside lid.
Note that I try to be conservative about condition descriptions, carefully noting any flaws. Of course, with antique items, there will be some signs of usage, and/or manufacturing defects. But overall, my customers have always been pleasantly surprised upon receiving their items, and of course, I would expect a return if I happen to miss anything.
