The scene of this painting shows two groups of figures in a courtyard. The group of three women appear to be serving food; the seated group are watching. Since they all appear to be looking at something out of the picture, I think this may be a fragment of a screen or painted wall paper.
I wish I knew more about Asian art so I could offer an attribution, but I believe this to be 19th century, if not earlier.
Matted and framed in simple wood frame.
Size: Approximately 11.75" high by 11.25" wide (overall framed size).
Condition: Very good. Some non-disfiguring stains. (What look like spots at top and bottom edges appear to be spots of gilt).
Note that I try to be conservative about condition descriptions, carefully noting any flaws. Of course, with antique items, there will be some signs of usage, and/or manufacturing defects. But overall, my customers have always been pleasantly surprised upon receiving their items, and of course, Returns are no problem if I happen to miss anything.
