Antique engraved glass covered footed jar. Whether for sugar or some practical purpose I don't know, but with the elaborate engraving, possibly meant for display.
Of clear blown glass, it has floral and leafy engraving, plus empty shields (possibly meant for a monogram to be added) and baskets of flowers. I have photographed some of the engraving from inside out to better capture the detail. Foot is also engraved with a band of leaves. Final is panel cut/faceted. I believe this is probably a European item, from the early 19th century.
Size: Approximately 10"total height.
Condition: Excellent. No chips, cracks or repairs.
Note that I try to be conservative about condition descriptions, carefully noting any flaws. Of course, with antique items, there will be some signs of usage, and/or manufacturing defects. But overall, my customers have always been pleasantly surprised upon receiving their items, and of course, I would expect a return if I happen to miss anything.
