This cut glass compote has typical Anglo-Irish design and cutting style: A scalloped and notched edge, flattened diamond point cutting on body of bowl, panel cuts around base, and a star cut on bottom (with expected base wear). A typical design made over a number of years and factories, so as usual, specific attribution is difficult, but I would suspect English, from late 1800s.
Attractive either for display or use on a holiday table.
Top diameter approximately 8.5", base diameter approximately 3.25". Height approximately 4.5". Weight over 2.5 lbs.
Condition: Excellent for this type of glass. Only most minor edge "fleabites" and usage marks.
Note that I try to be conservative about condition descriptions, carefully noting any flaws. Of course, with antique items, there will be some signs of usage, and/or manufacturing defects. But overall, my customers have always been pleasantly surprised upon receiving their items, and of course, I would expect a return if I happen to miss anything.
