This non-flint pattern has not been conclusively attributed to a specific maker, although it has appeared in retailers' catalogs of this period. Whether you collect the pattern, or simply want a useful, high standard cake stand, this would make a lovely addition to your table. The pattern consists of draped festoons against a stippled background, with a beaded rim. There is a small depression or well in the center
American pressed glass ca. 1890.
Size: Approximately 9" diameter, 6.25" high.
Condition: No chips, cracks or repairs. Usual pressed glass manufacturing flaws.
Note that I try to be conservative about condition descriptions, carefully noting any flaws. Of course, with antique items, there will be some signs of usage, and/or manufacturing defects. But overall, my customers have always been pleasantly surprised upon receiving their items, and of course, returns are no problem if I happen to miss anything.
