This Barr porcelain chocolate cup and saucer is a slightly unusual form. Border and center have a grape and leaf design in deep brown (with purple cast), with tendrils and bands of gilt. Not marked. Can be attributed to Barr on basis of other pieces. Shape and description are shown in Sandon's "Dictionary of Worcester Porcelain, 175--1851, Volume 1.
Size: Cup approximately 4" top diameter, 3" high; saucer diameter 6".
Condition: Short line of rim of cup. Some of the usual wear to gilding. No other chips, cracks or repairs.
Note that I try to be conservative about condition descriptions, carefully noting any flaws. Of course, with antique items, there will be some signs of usage, and/or manufacturing defects. But overall, my customers have always been pleasantly surprised upon receiving their items, and of course, I would expect a return if I happen to miss anything.
