This Sterling soup ladle is in Gorham's "Colonial" pattern, introduced in 1885. Pieces in this pattern feature a stem fashioned to look like a spiral. Nothing early American about this design, but probably named for its simplicity compared to other designs of the period. No monogram. Marked with Gorham mark, Sterling, and what looks like date letter for.
Size: Approximately 12.5" long. Total weight: 192 grams (6.14 troy ounces)
Estate silver will be in used condition, but I will take care to note any defects or condition problems arising from heavy use or abuse.
Note that I try to be conservative about condition descriptions, carefully noting any flaws. Of course, with antique items, there will be some signs of usage, and/or manufacturing defects. But overall, my customers have always been pleasantly surprised upon receiving their items, and of course, I would expect a return if I happen to miss anything.
