This creamware plate has black transfer printing. The central scene is a group consisting of a man, a woman and a child near a Chippendale style fence. Motifs on the flange are floral sprays and birds.
No maker's marks. Probably English, Liverpool or Leeds ca. 1790.
Size: Approximately 9 1/2" diameter, 1 1/2" deep.
Condition: Looks very good, but has had excellent restoration, apparently in response to edge damage. There is abrasion/scratching to the overglaze print in center.
Note that I try to be conservative about condition descriptions, carefully noting any flaws. Of course, with antique items, there will be some signs of usage, and/or manufacturing defects. But overall, my customers have always been pleasantly surprised upon receiving their items, and of course, returns are no problem if I happen to miss anything.
