The transfer pattern on this soup plate is known as "Chinoiserie Ruins". It appeared on John Ridgway pieces earlier, but was more prevalent on the Davenport version. The design is of Asian figures in front of a ruined building. The border has exotic foliage. Body is a lightly potted earthenware.

Impressed Davenport anchor mark. English, ca. 1835.

Size: Approximately 9.375" diameter.

Condition: Excellent. No chips, cracks or repairs.

Note that I try to be conservative about condition descriptions, carefully noting any flaws. Of course, with antique items, there will be some signs of usage, and/or manufacturing defects. But overall, my customers have always been pleasantly surprised upon receiving their items, and of course, returns are no problem if I happen to miss anything.
