Sterling silver handled porringer with flared rim and classic pierced and scrolled handle. Presentation engraving on bottom: "Edmund March Wheelwright, Jr. From John and Mary Elliot, Sept. 1917". Has Towle mark, Sterling, and number "7004" on back of handle.
The cutwork on the handle was either hand-sawn (or designed to appear that way), and is not perfectly symmetrical.
Manufactured by Towle Silversmiths, Newburyport Massachusetts.
Size: Approximately 7" overall length, 4.5" bowl diameter, 1.75" high. Weight 173 grams (5.56 troy ounces)
Condition: Excellent. A couple really tiny dimples.
Estate silver will be in used condition, but I will take care to note any defects or condition problems arising from heavy use or abuse.
