This wash bowl has some of the best painting I've ever seen. The colors are rich and unusual - blue roses, deep green foliage, and yellow berries with brown outlines. White earthenware with a pearlware glaze.
Unmarked, but probably English, ca 1825
Size: Approximately 11.625" top diameter, 4.25" high.
Condition: Glaze quite worn - particularly in center where pitcher would sit. Chip on foot rim, Faint lines in bottom (don't show inside bowl), some discoloration. No other chips, cracks or repairs.
Note that I try to be conservative about condition descriptions, carefully noting any flaws. Of course, with antique items, there will be some signs of usage, and/or manufacturing defects. But overall, my customers have always been pleasantly surprised upon receiving their items, and of course, returns are no problem if I happen to miss anything.
