These four plates have a "Japan" design (probably representing peonies, but I think they look like pine cones!). The shape is square, with "cut in" corners, and molded with a gadroon edge. Colors are pinks, salmon/rust, cobalt and green with gilt accents.
Unmarked save for a painted number (three marked, 209 one marked 129)
English, ca. 1825
Condition: Very good. Some wear spots to gilded edges. No chips, cracks or repairs.
Size: Approximately 8 1/2" square.
Note that I try to be conservative about condition descriptions, carefully noting any flaws. Of course, with antique items, there will be some signs of usage, and/or manufacturing defects. But overall, my customers have always been pleasantly surprised upon receiving their items, and of course, returns are no problem if I happen to miss anything.
