This little set is a delight and just perfect for tea for two, being that the pot holds 2 cups! Add one of Pickard "All Over Gold" dishes for the sugar cubes and you have a nice threesome!! The teapot and creamer have a nice oval shaped body. The creamy white background of the body displays the hand painted floral motif nicely. The motif consists of purple violets that are nestled amongst soft green leaves at the upper portion of the pieces with green lines extending downward forming two panels. The tendrils and leaves of the flowers also are cascading down onto the panels. This motif decorates both sides of the pieces. The rims, finial, spout and handles are adorned with gold. The pattern for the motif is called "Violets in Panel" and can be seen in Alan B. Reed's reference book 'Collector's Encyclopedia of Pickard China. This piece is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. Manufacturing anomalies may exist, the occasional tiny iron speck, dust 'bump' in the glaze, etc.
