This has been one of my favorites for years! It is one of those pieces that make you smile when you see it. The large platter has been decorated with two large groups of dark olive transfers. On the upper portion a cartouche with butterflies and flowering blackberry branch with two small birds perched on it. The lower portion has a scroll with four mice dressed in jackets, sitting on top of the scroll are four birds. A flowering branch is behind this scene. On the ends of this piece are flying birds and one end has a round cartouche with a design. This piece has no cracks or chips! IT IS RARE TO FIND ANTIQUE EARTHENWARE IN "LIKE NEW" CONDITION BECAUSE OF WEAR FROM USE AND AGE. TINY GLAZE FLAKES AND CRAZING IS NORMAL AND ADDS CHARACTER TO EACH PIECE.
