This Limoges platter is about the largest and deepest one I’ve seen in this age group! The artist has taken this once plain white blank and has painted a garden of yellow and white daisy like flowers over one side of it. He has used deep chocolate browns for the stems and center of the flowers. He has accented the flora with green and brown leaves. He has placed this arrangement on a soft buttery yellow background accented with browns and greens around the floral group. To the best of my knowledge this was used as a meat platter back in the days. I have looked in the Haviland book did not see this blank. The artist ‘R KAISER 1912’ has signed and dated this piece on the back. There are no hairlines or cracks; manufacturing anomalies do exist, the occasional tiny iron speck, dust 'bump' in the glaze, etc. This piece is large enough to be a centerpiece on a table!!!
