This is a remarkable plate with exquisite art work. The mold itself is a piece of art with shell like designs done in a wonderful raised relief. The artist has painted these designs a beautiful gold and has accented the beading that is in between them also in gold. The main focus is a beautiful young woman in the center of the plate. She is dressed in a blue flowing gown and appears to be reaching up to pick something off of the green branches above her. The woman and trees are enclosed in a scrolling raised gold enamel cartouche which really makes this plate pop!. We think this could possibly be Copeland Spode mold do to the ENGLAND mark. It is also possibly soft paste porcelain or bone china due to slight crazing. There are no hairlines or cracks; manufacturing anomalies do exist, the occasional tiny iron speck, dust 'bump' in the glaze, etc.
