This nice sized charger is hand painted with a lush bouquet made up of brilliantly colored flowers in shades of burgundy, pinks, and yellow. The flowers resemble Ranunculus but not quite sure if that was the intentions of the artist. The dense and detailed foliage is a blending of lush greens accented with black to define them. The background colors on the piece range from deep tan around the flowers to peach to cream around the rim. Within the background the artist has painted shadowy leaves added a nice touch. The beautifully scalloped rococo mold is painted with heavy gold gilding that is in excellent condition. The artist, Dupont has signed the front of this piece. There is a small chip on the back of plate that does not show from the front please see pictures. There are no hairlines or cracks; manufacturing anomalies do exist, the occasional tiny iron speck, dust 'bump' in the glaze, etc.
