This pattern, printed in a Saxon blue, is from the Cairo series and features a large scroll cartouche with a camel and rider. Two men in robes are walking with a long stick, ahead of the camel. Two circle cartouches with geometric patterns are on opposite sides of the main cartouche. Beautiful birds and flowering branches also accent the well of the plate. The rim has a wonderful blue flower pattern. This pattern can be seen in a reprint of a page from a W. T. Copeland & Sons Catalog in Wilkinson2002, p. 130. Besides a small rim chip it is in wonderful condition. IT IS RARE TO FIND VINTAGE AND ANTIQUE EARTHENWARE IN "LIKE NEW" CONDITION BECAUSE OF WEAR FROM USE AND AGE. TINY GLAZE FLAKES AND CRAZING IF PRESENT IS NORMAL AND ADDS CHARACTER TO EACH PIECE.
