The pattern features a standing child with it’s arm around a large dog in a loving embrace. It is an Aesthetic style pattern with a cartouche in the center and partial cartouche coming from it left. It includes birds on branches and flowers in the background of the main pattern. The border pattern is small flowers shapes with cartouches of fruit interspersed within the boarder. References state when Charles Allerton became a grandfather, he created a series of transferware patterns featuring Little May as she grew up. There are no chips, hairlines or cracks; manufacturing anomalies do exist, the occasional tiny iron speck, dust 'bump' in the glaze, etc.
