This is a wonderful old piece that has a nice scalloped edge with raised relief designs. The flow blue scroll and cartouches decorate the wide rim and center of this plate. The flow blue effect from the designs is gently bleeding into the bright white background giving it a wonderful contrast. There is a ¼” chip on the underside of the rim and a few knife marks are present. Please see pictures. IT IS RARE TO FIND This age of Earthenware IN "LIKE NEW" CONDITION BECAUSE OF WEAR FROM USE AND AGE. TINY GLAZE FLAKES AND CRAZING IF PRESENT IS NORMAL AND ADDS CHARACTER TO EACH PIECE.
Backstamp Bees in circle. We think this mark is possibly Bridgett & Bates but have not found reliable documentations to be sure. We have found the “Martha Pattern in Mary Frank Gaston “Encyclopedia of Flow Blue“ but it was Upper Hanley pottery company manufacturing it
Measures: 10 ¼”
